Just ran across this today (although it's been out for quite a while now - shows you how much I follow the Perl community ;) ) - Parrot. It's the bytecodes for the new Perl6 interpreter. Supposedly it'll be open enough for other languages. Are we going to need a common language for all of the "common" intermediate languages (i.e. Java bytecodes, CIL, and potentially Parrot)? By the way, I love what they call classes: "Parrot Magic Cookies", or PMCs.
