"Eater", by Gregory Benford
I finished reading this book
this weekend. Essentially, astronomers find out that an intelligent black hole is coming closer to the solar system, and ends up heading straight for earth with a disturbing proposition. I read "Cosm" before
, but "Eater" wasn't as good. I didn't care about any of the characters - they seemed somewhat wooden and flat. The science was interesting, but that was the only thing that was kept me from putting the book back on my shelf. If you want to read anything by Benford, stay away from this book, and pick up "Cosm" instead.
