Yesterday we had our big release date. Everyone on the team seems very happy with what we've done, and that's a good thing. It was a little strange though, in the sense that I've worked on a site that gets millions of hits per day a couple of years ago, and right now our site is getting 3-6 hits per minute. Granted, the expected loads should be going up in the near future, and this site is completely new, unlike the aforementioned site that was already in use for a long time. But I have to admit that I didn't quite understand all the energy surrounding our release yesterday either. Not that I'm complaining, though - I'll take free cake any day :). My primary concern is to do the best job I can for the customer such that they really like me (and therefore my employer). As long as I can do that, I'm happy.
