Giving Up on "Gravity's Shadow"
For the last four months the book has been by my side of the bed has been, "Gravity's Shadow". I've been able to get halfway through, but I'm giving up. It's extremely thorough but it's been a lethargic experience getting through over 400 pages of material on the history of gravity wave research. I'm not criticizing the book's author - he's done a fine job. But, frankly, it's become boring, and I couldn't see spending another 4 to 6 months reading about the development of the LIGO system. Hopefully my next book (a sci-fi one by Poul Anderson) will be a better experience.
