At the end of last year, I listed goals that I wanted to achieve in 2005. Here’s the results:
Learn About Parenting That was easy. Having a kid forces you to learning all sorts of things about babies. At the beginning, I felt unsure of myself. Frankly, I ddin’t know what the hell I was doing. 9 months later, I feel more at ease with Hayden. He’s now able to do things with me - we smash cars into each other and I can tickle him and he giggles. It’s still trying at times, but I wouldn’t trade him for anything - he’s such a joy to have around.
Get the Baby Room Done Done!
Build a Deck This one fell off the radar. However, it will get done this year.
Stop Swearing I’ve been a bit better about this, to some degree, but I don’t see it as a necessary thing to do in my life either.
Lose Some Weight This went the wrong way. I’m now up to 205 lbs - yikes! I’m still working out 3 days a week, I feel strong, and I don’t feel like I’m out of shape, but I could really stand to lose 10 pounds of fat.
Add Commenting to my Blog Done!
Do a Couple of Speaking Engagements I did a couple, but for 2006? I’ll get to that in a future blog post.
Add More to .NET Langauges I’ve had some realizations about this site and where I should go with it. Details to come in a future blog post.
Blog About Some Topics in the Can I did this in spades, but I have a ton of ideas in the TODO list. I’ll get to those in the future.
Update my Blogging Tool This has become a constant source of fun/frustration. It would be nice to use a package that did it all for me, but I like having complete control over the funtionality of my site.
Learn More About Finances This didn’t happen. D’oh!
Get a Bigger Car 2005 Saturn VUE? Check! I’m glad we got it - we barely got everything in it coming home from Wisconsin (all the gifts to Hayden really stacked up). Our other Saturn wouldn’t have held everything - not by a long shot.
