Um … what?! Nobody forced Haggard to purchase meth or have sex with another man. This was his own choice. And he personally put himself up on a soapbox of morality that he himself couldn’t stand on. This illustrates how some religious folks are completely and willingly ignorant of the facts.
I could care less about Haggard. There is a part of me that is definitely laughing its ass off over this, but at the end of the day the religious juggernaut will still march on. What I would think would be very interesting to see in the future is Haggard coming out about his homosexuality and admitting his preference, and then having a meeting with Dawkins and apologizing to Richard over his arrogance. It’ll never happen, of course, but you never know …
