Today I published my C# unions article.
I missed that.
For a long time, I wrote on my site using a home-grown solution I cobbled together on my own. It worked for a while, but long story short, it ended abruptly when the hosting company shut off access. I wanted to get back to it, but I didn’t want to build all the tooling myself, nor did I want to shop around to find ways to host my content.
Turns out GitHub Pages works well enough. Sure, the design of my site isn’t the greatest (I really need to figure out how to get dark mode working), but at this point as long as it looks decent, that’s good enough for me. Plus, publishing is simple - just commit to main and presto, updated web site!
So while I’m not going to have a torrent of articles coming up, I am going to start putting more time into getting ideas I’ve floated around in my head into a Markdown file and let them loose on the world. I’m also going to see what I can do to salvage old content from the previous version of my site using something like The Wayback Machine. Or maybe I still have it backed up in a SQL Server image. Either way, there are things I wrote in the past that I’d like to preserve, so watch for those coming as well.
It’ll take time to get things structured and scaffolded in a way that I like, but I’m looking forward to writing more again. I like doing it.
