“The Iron Lance”

I finished this book on the flight to the MVP Summit. I’ve been a Lawhead fan since college, so I have fairly big expectations when I read any of his material. This book talks about the Crusades, and focuses around a character called Murdo. He’s not part of the Crusade itself; he’s just trying to find his father and brothers because his land has been wrongly stolen from his family by some corrupt priests. Of course, Murdo ends up doing far more than that, but I won’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil the plot lines. I wasn’t overtly impressed with this book, but I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. The chapters where Murdo is walking through Jerusalem after the Crusaders captured it were extremely vivid. There’s two more books in this series and I definitely plan on reading them.
