Larry blogs about alternative sports. When I was in high school, my friends one night came up with a great variation of the classic card game, Spoons [1]. We called it “Advanced Spoons”. Basically, instead of having the spoons with the circle of players, the spoons are put across the room, or in another room, or outside, or up a flight of stairs. You can imagine the carnage that took place once you had to physically fight your way to get a spoon.
Try it once if your friends are bored one night. It’ll separate the wimps from the fighters.
[1] Note that we played the game without the drinking penalty. Really. I swear.
