I finished this book a couple of days ago. It’s pretty bizarre, twisted, and disturbing. For some reason I didn’t get it that the creatures were aliens that were harvesting human beings (vodsels) for meat. One of them was modified to look like a human to pick up hitchhikers and drug them if they were muscular and a loner. This book isn’t for the faint of heart, but I found it interesting.
